16DCT motor delivers up to 5.24mNm torque

The 16DCT has the lowest motor regulation (R/K2) compared to similar motors in the market, which means it has a lower drop in speed at increasing load, according to Portescap.

A new 16DCT motor from Portescap can deliver continuous torque up to 5.24mNm at a length of only 25mm.

The 16DCT Athlonix mini motor utilises powerful Neodymium magnets and Portescap's energy efficient coreless design. Its optimised self-supporting coil ensures high performance is delivered in a compact package, reducing the overall cost of ownership, according to the company.

Compared to similar motors in the market, the 16DCT has the lowest motor regulation (R/K2) which means it has a lower drop in speed at increasing load. This feature, combined with efficiency up to 85%, makes the 16DCT motor an ideal motion solution for battery operated tools, according to Portescap.

16DCT is available with precious metal and graphite commutation systems and is ideal for applications such as medical and industrial pumps, drug delivery systems, robotic systems (bionic fingers), small industrial power tools, tattoo machines, mesotherapy guns, dental tools, watch winders and industrial grippers. Other applications include security as well as access and humanoid robots.

An optional special bearing assembly can also be provided for applications having cyclic radial and axial load requirements. The 16DCT is also available with an REE coil (Restriction of Electro Erosion), which prolongs the life of the motor and provides an environment of intrinsic safety especially at high speed conditions.

Component standardisation and design modularity allow quick customisation capability for samples across various applications, according to Portescap. Athlonix motors are compatible with encoders and gearheads of various sizes and ratios. They are manufactured in an ISO certified facility and are RoHS compliant.
