Codasip, BaySand roll out RISC-V processor IP

Codix-Bk cores can be customised and optimised to deliver performance improvements, according to Codasip.

Czech company Codasip has collaborated with California-based BaySand to make Codasip's Codix-Bk series of RISC-V compliant processor cores available on BaySand's 65nm and 40nm multi project wafer services, which are run with Globalfoundries.

According to Codasip, the Codix-Bk processor cores are the first commercially available cores that are RISC-V compliant. In general, Codasip has a model-based approach to support application-specific processor and verification and compilation. Codix-Bk cores can be customised and optimised to deliver performance improvements, the company said.

BaySand's UltraShuttle multi project wafers (MPW), as well as their MetalCopy FPGA porting technology, offer the opportunity to bring designs to market in less than eight weeks from tape out.

RISC-V is an open, processor instruction set architecture (ISA) standard supported by the RISC-V foundation and a set of founding companies including Codasip.
